Prevention practice
Our prevention education programs provide resources and skills to youth and families in northern Colorado. Specifically, we aim to address challenges and risk-factors that lead youth to poor decision-making, particularly substance misuse. We recognized the need to continue expanding these services in Boulder County.
We will focus on providing trainings, presentations, and courses that feature evidence-based social-emotional learning curricula. Later, these offerings will range from one-time presentations to ongoing courses for groups, all tailored to the specific audience.
"Coming to Handshake Partners Camp has been my favorite part of summer since I get to be with people in person and I've made new friends."

UPCOMING EVENTS
Family & Parenting / Caregiver Education
We offer trainings that involve both parent/caregiver and family learning opportunities with the aim of increasing parenting self-efficacy and fostering social-emotional development in youth. We’ll often partner with other organizations to create a well-rounded educational experience.
Youth Education
Our youth education offers general community prevention education. We collaborate with schools, municipal courts, social groups, and other nonprofits to conduct one-time trainings as well as ongoing courses. These trainings are evidence-based and have been proven to show program graduates improve in behaviors that affect their health, well-being and resiliency.
